As a data manager, your role is pivotal in contributing to the collective effort towards cleaner and more efficient urban mobility. This guide will walk you through the initial steps to navigate the TUMI Datahub effectively, enabling you to share and organize valuable city data effortlessly.

Requirements

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

  • User Access: Obtain a user account to log in to the TUMI Datahub.
  • Data File: Prepare the file containing the data you intend to publish.
  • Metadata: Gather necessary metadata associated with your file.

Step 1: Login

Navigate to the upper right corner and click the login icon. Once logged in successfully, your dashboard will be displayed.

The "My Datasets" tab will showcase the datasets that fall under your management.

Step 2: Add a new dataset

  1. Utilize the "Add Dataset" button to create a new dataset.
  2. Fill in metadata about your dataset in the provided form. Remember, this information should encompass all resources within the dataset.
  3. Title
  4. Description
  5. Tags: Choose from existing tags or carefully create new ones that align with the overall tagging strategy.
  6. License: Select an appropriate license for open data.
  7. Organization: Select the relevant organization you are affiliated with.
  8. Visibility: Determine visibility settings; "private" prevents public access.
  9. Version: Maintain consistency with an established data version strategy.
  10. Author and Maintainer: Identify responsible parties for the data.
  11. Custom Fields: Utilize additional fields tailored to specific dataset requirements or specialized information.

Click "Next: Add Data" to proceed.

Step 3: Add a new resource

Once your dataset is created, it's time to include resources that encapsulate your data or provide links to it. Follow these steps:

Uploading Data: If your data is stored on your local computer, use the "Upload" option. Select this option to upload the file.

  • Name: Provide a descriptive name for the resource.
  • Description: Add a brief description detailing the content or purpose of the resource.
  • Format: Select the appropriate file type (e.g., CSV, PDF, etc.).

Linking Data: If your data is hosted online, choose the "Link" option and input the URL.

  • Name: Specify a name that clearly represents the linked resource.
  • Description: Offer a concise explanation of the linked data's relevance or contents.
  • Format: Indicate the format of the data accessible through the provided URL.

Ensure accuracy and relevance in the information provided for each resource. This step ensures that users accessing your dataset can easily understand and utilize the included resources.

Step 4: Check your dataset

After adding resources to your dataset, it's essential to verify its accuracy and accessibility. Follow these steps to ensure everything is in order:

  1. Review Metadata: Double-check the metadata and descriptive information provided for the dataset.

  2. Examine Resource Data: Verify the accuracy and relevance of the added resources, ensuring they align with the dataset's purpose.

  3. Validate File Accessibility: If you've linked external data, test the provided URL to ensure it directs users to the intended data file.

  4. Confirm File Integrity: If you've uploaded files, ensure they are correctly uploaded and accessible for download.

  5. Ensure Comprehensive Details: Check if all necessary information, such as descriptions, formats, and names, are clear and understandable to users.
