System Administration

Within the TUMI Datahub, efficient system administration involves two critical roles:

CKAN Sysadmin

The CKAN Sysadmin role holds pivotal responsibilities in the day-to-day operations of the system. This role entails managing and overseeing various aspects of the CKAN instance, including user details, organization administration, and the ability to permanently delete datasets. However, it's crucial to carefully consider granting access to a sysadmin account, as it wields extensive privileges within the CKAN system.

Please note, certain administrative tasks might not be available through the web interface and might necessitate server access where CKAN is installed.

CKAN Maintainer

The CKAN Maintainer focuses on ensuring the smooth configuration, functionality, and advancement of the entire TUMI Datahub system. This role involves overseeing system configurations, introducing new features, and conducting system-wide updates or upgrades. The CKAN Maintainer plays a critical role in the technical operation and evolution of the TUMI Datahub.

While most system administration tasks are typically handled by GIZ TUMI, the hosting partner, any specific requirements or enhancements concerning CKAN or its configuration can be directed to them.

These roles collectively ensure the robustness, stability, and progressive development of the TUMI Datahub infrastructure, enabling an efficient and reliable open data platform.
